This can be a nice place to work depending on your goals and outlook. But a lot of it is politically based and not dependent on your merits. If you are well liked or in favor with certain people you advance - if not, you don't.

That was my feeling a long time ago. As with anything, our culture has changed. Traditionally, low turn-over which makes promotions a challenge. Still love the job itself and the work family. Need more money to survive or a higher company paid portion of benefits.

Work family, work-life balance is better than most.

Low salaries were once justified by incredible benefits. Benefits no longer worth it, I net less in 2016, than I did in 2013

National Retail Federation is a wonderful place to work, because you work with people from different professions. I was able to work with professionals in different departments to be able to plan conferences travel, hotel and registration. Everyday I provided services to people all over the world. Management was very professional, ethical, fair and generous. The hardest part of the job was working during the busiest time of the year preparing for the Annual Convention. The most enjoyable part of the job was the great relationship and team work culture that I miss very much.

What i learned...

what i learned from the National Retail Federation was how important customer service was and is. I now expect to seee customer service being used everywhere... and if i dont i try and confront managers on what theyre doing wrong and give them scenerios on how to fix the problem .
