Stressful environment not worth the pay
|
Toxic culture with nonstop rumors and gossip about anyone and everyone. Nepotism ran amok to the point when the company hired a new president, he cracked down on it...allegedly. Turnover was near-constant, to the point where it was surprising to see a new hire make it past two weeks. The pay was pretty decent, but the culture means you have to seriously think about whether it’s worth it to work in an environment like that. I ultimately decided it was not.

The work pace was slow as the metals business is at the moment,

Always running in circles waiting for others to finish talking and do their job so you can finish yours

Beginning of the day appeared promising. Then you realize the talking and lack of work other employees do. It was difficult being a new employee and having to ask people who have been there for over 10 years if this is done constantly so I could load it on the truck. 0 absolutely 0 encouragement to get the job done unless its the last 2 hrs of the shift. Totally screws up the loaders to get product loaded out for deliveries.

My time working here was wonderful. I learned a lot and stayed busy. It really feels like a team/ family when you work with NTS. when it comes to work expect to be BUSY though. very fast pace job

I have nothing to say. The place has good and bad people. The ones who talk nasty about others and the ones that keep to them self. Three shifts with supers on shift and they each live in there own world of sorts, No team play. Each man for their self type of mentality. People there are always complaining and speaking ill of the company and each other. Which makes for a stressful employer to work for. Very weak incentive program that makes employees that much disgruntle with lots to say about anything coming their way.

Poor Managemnt
|
Management lacks vision and oversight of inside sales team. Seem to put more emphasis on working long hours instead of working effectively. Communication is poor at best or ignored entirely. Numerous growth opportunities are missed. Management at Baytown facility was more interested in his beer and time of then managing a team. Seems like the old steel mill mentality of doing things. Little to no support for outside sales. Inside rep was inexperienced did not follow up on quotes and lack efficiency. Overall a poor working environment.

Just stay away and find another company and you will be better off. Very unfair management. It is all smoke and mirrors. They lead you to believe you are a team but it’s not . It is a one way streak.
