This one's not it.

Most team members are great. People at the same level as you tend to want to enable your success. Company is almost entirely remote for many divisions. There's a lot of employee engagement to bridge the distance.
|
The whole company feels like a bunch of brick that got laid down without mortar. It looks solid at first and feels solid for a while, but the longer you stay, the more you realize that so much of this company is hanging on with a hope and a prayer.
If you care about making a great product that you can be proud of participating in, you will not find it here. Products here are made with the bare minimum in mind because the point is to sell the company and not to thrive or be successful. That can be a benefit if you just want to walk into a job and do your work. If you want job security, go find something else. Unless you've been around for a while, your job will not be secure. Nothing makes this more clear than when you receive near daily emails regarding people leaving the company--whether via lay offs or by choice. Still, for a small company, it's evident that this company was not built with the intent for it to thrive.
Ncontracts has a lot of potential, but it's had a lot of potential for a lot of years. These days, it seems like it's only interested in buying potential products to merge with the company, not many of which are compatible with what the company already has, instead of investing in the people, the products, and the organization they already have. If you want to work in the financial sector, it may be best to find something a little more established and a little less reckless.

Stop buying companies and merging with them. Focus on developing the talents of your people, cleaning up your products, and planning for the future. Venture capital is fine if that's your end goal, but you will earn far more with a company that is consistently invested IN rather than invested OUT.

A company that cares.

Ncontracts is great at making everyone feel valued and encouraged. The benefits are great, the pay is great, and I genuinely feel respected by my colleagues and higher ups. The work/life balance is amazing and the company has really embraced the potential of WFH, bringing in employees from all over to building a truly national community.

All the cons I have deal with some of the workflow processes. None of them are bad enough to make me dislike the company and they are actively working on making those processes better.

- IT is by FAR the best area in the company. - Our CEO was great. Very informative during meetings & just a nice person in general. - Amazing coworkers in IT. - Remote but it’s nice to have an office to be able to drop in every now & again. - Extremely talented development team. - Flexible schedule/unlimited PTO

- non IT employees often lack application knowledge & end up confusing/frustrating clients during interactions. - if you excel in your role, you WILL end up picking up the slack of others, at times, even outside your job role & responsibilities. - Felt like 30% of the people did 70% of the work during my tenure. - Design & Quality teams are not always as valued as in other organizations. - sometimes, it felt like you worked for whichever high paying client was complaining that week. - client success metrics are not always aligned with IT. This often resulted in conflicting interests & adversarial interactions between depts.

The people, who aren’t always trying to be seen or climb a corporate ladder are the ones actually in the trenches working above & beyond. No one wants to struggle everyday at work. It doesn’t build character as another reviewer said.. As someone who actually struggled & raised concerns, only to see them go without solution, “the struggle” pushed me into looking for a way out.
