The company is focused on changing and growing, despite what others who have left think. Some people feel that their voice is the only one, and if change is not made immediately, no one is listening. Neotys understands that you have to calculate change with reward and risk. I feel they do that, not always to the satisfaction of each individual. They have been willing to expand the product, and add additional products, realizing the market and adjusting/refocusing on the base product to ensure the main product is at the cutting edge and as robust as possible. This refocus (change in philosophy to the market) has lead to the Product being better than ever, and starting to capture Enterprise market sales with Fortune 100 companies. Their dedication to Supporting the product is excellent, as the team is very reactive, especially to identified bugs and defects, with hotfixes in days, sometimes hours. With any company that is trying to expand quickly to gain ground in the market, there is the chance to miss the market focus. There were times where it was slow to realize the current market was not wanting some other functionalities, and needing to refocus on the core. This was eventually made and changed, leading to significant market growth and branding, but at a cost. Having good talent always has it's downside, as those talents are sought after and coveted by other companies willing to pay significantly more to help their company grow. I would recommend the product to any company making an Agile transformation and trying to figure out what they're doing for performance testing. - To echo the previous reviewer, there is free coffee. Instead of going on about the cons, I'd rather provide a list of questions to ask your interviewer if you're applying for a job at Neotys. I have been very disappointed in the answers I've had to all of these: - What are the company's values? - Why is the company needed by the world? - Can you give me real life examples of how you motivate employees? - How do you maintain a consistent culture and team spirit when offices are distributed around the globe? - When was the last time you had a company wide meeting that included all employees? - How do you view communication within your company? - What checks are in place for when that communication falls through? - How does the company set revenue growth targets? - Does the company increase headcount and budgets proportionately to ensure that revenue growth targets are met? - Why did the size of your marketing department shrink by 54% in less than a year? - Can you tell me why the person who had this job previously left the company? - How will my individual incentives be tied to my own personal success? - What affect does my performance review scores have on my chance of being kept as an employee if there is a layoff? - Is the company willing to sacrifice the numbers to save the best people? - How do you deal with poor performing employees and employees who have a series of complaints filed against them? - What is your plan for retaining your highest performing employees? - What is your process for dealing with delicate HR situations like when an employee quits or when a layoff occurs? - How do you identify and support good leaders? - How many members of your management team have held high-level management positions at highly successful software start-ups (not including Neotys)? - Will my manager know more than me when it comes to the subject matter of my job? If not, will I be given complete autonomy in making decisions where I am the subject matter expert? - What is your action plan to educate yourself to be better at your own job? - Give me an example of a time when you made a decision that was based on analytics and data that went against your own gut feeling. The company has a solid product, but it is indeed losing its best people. It's sad because there seemed to be potential there, but change is glacial, and they've lost several change agents. This doesn't feel like a start-up, this feels like a small company with the culture of a legacy enterprise. Saying the culture is non-existent would be false; the culture seems to be compliance. Really think about how much you enjoy taking orders and executing them before joining the company.
