The company does a great job of supporting this growth and creativity through programs like job shadowing and brainstorm forums, so it's easy to learn from others and collaborate on solutions. Even during the COVID-19 outbreak, the company has created teams with people from a variety of departments to help work through complex issues. A lot of really great people work on the technical/engineering/studio side, and you get a decent amount of editorial freedom. The culture is extremely problematic. There is no diversity, with the excuse of "covering male dominated sports like MLB and NHL." There is very little room for career advancement. They'll use you, so you should use them: use all the opportunities given, suck it up to an extent as the culture is pretty toxic, then leave after a few years to the next step in your career. With the hours being so rough, you depend on your coworkers to keep you going. Upper management is a complete mess. There are managers with hidden agendas, that only look out for themselves, have personal vendettas against some employees and bar them from any upper movement. There is little to no communication between upper management and those who actually execute the job.
