Large family owned metal recycling business in the southeast us focused on family first rather than employees. Many business experts are quoted as saying that their most valuable assets are their employees. This is not true at Newell, the past ten years have shown multiple large lay offs. As a result Newell may be controlled by others in the near future as opposed to a family owned business.

Good people who work well together. It's a family run business that values and rewards loyalty. You will be given challenges and opportunities to prove yourself.

Harsh environment with a lot of dirt, dust, and noise. The environment is certainly not for everyone. They also push their equipment very hard and preventative maintenance could be better.

Newell does a great job training people to do their job effectively as well as how their job affects others around them. There used to be a fantastic team atmosphere.

Changes at the top made this a very difficult company to work for. Emphasis on taking care of good employees has disappeared.
