Leadership Buffalo, NY USA Inspiring brand with a global reach The organization has its opportunities, all do. Leaderships is making efforts to evolve and would benefit from collecting additional voices from the staff and opening up feedback mechanisms. The leadership wants to learn and is willing to change but lacks a consistent process of doing such. There is additional opportunity to create a process of promoting from within, which has gotten better. They would benefit from implementing more transparent "pay bands" to ensure compensation between tenured employees and newer employees does not have a large gap (can lean either way). Ultimately experience and execution is rewarded if it is portrayed in a respectful and tactful manner and with the right leadership. I found the culture infectious (in a good way) and inspiring. Those who were not happy were often not doing much to change their situation proactively (not always the case but quite often). My peers were great people and most of the time were willing to work together. The organization was willing to make difficult decisions to remove roadblocks if necessary which I appreciated after coming from previous roles where they would just shuffle problems elsewhere. There are expectations for a strong work ethic and sometimes there is an increased demand for your time. It is the nature of the business. I found work life to be balanced the majority of the time with only about 20% of the time it may lean a little heavier towards work for key efforts. This can be very role dependent. Ultimately, this organization offers an opportunity to get experience in licensed apparel, sportswear, marketing, ecommerce, technology, supply chain, finance, and legal all while being regional and global in reach. Your leadership will define your success and satisfaction but that is standard with most organizations. Depending on your goals, it may be a great place to gain experience. You can only move up so far but every organization gets tighter at the top for opportunities so you may eventually have to "move out to move up" if senior leadership is your ultimate goal. IT team thrives on favoritism, CTO & his team, that has moved from his last company are always considered in high regard, though most of them don't have technical acumen and leadership skills. They trust their outsourcing vendors more than their own staff. Sometimes, it would feel like those vendors run the show and technically inept managers just give in. IT leadership doesn’t have long-term or short-term vision in this company, everyone is in a race to put band-aid to stop bleeding and take credit. Don't be surprised if credit for your ideas and work gets stolen by your immediate managers.
