Awesome company, great mission, results-driven
Incredible people, transparent leadership, super diverse staff and a very compelling vision.
Lots of shifts in the landscape and work expectations due to the bulk of the work being at the mercy of public school contracts, which change year to year.

Provide a truly and clearly anonymous way for staff to tell you what they really think. Core cultural and structural issues perpetuate over years due to lack of opportunities for staff transparency.

Great mission, poor internal leadership practices
Excellent benefits! Smart and ambitious people, exchanging in an organizational culture with great potential to be healthy.
No shared organizational alignment around a 360 evaluative tool that supports both direct reports and managers equally, while pushing internal practices with right fit challenges and transparent, safe dialogue.

A great place for smart, self-starters who value work/life balance
Great Salary
GREAT Benefits (especially if you have a family). I don't think point can be understated. They are very, very generous when it comes to their benefit packages.
Flexible work hours and the ability to work from home
AMAZING people (staff, program participants, and alumni)
You'll be a part of a national organization that is moving the needle through policy and programming
You'll meet smart, passionate educators from across the country
The organization has reorganized a number of times in a few years
Often it feels like decisions are made to a region instead of with a region
Attempts to standardize practices across the organization may be counter productive in some instances
The organization can be slow moving when it comes to supporting or removing employees who are not a great fit

A lot of the complaints here are surprising but one thing I would say is, not everyone is built/made to lead a team of leaders. The organization is filled with smart, ambitious, hard working people but leading those people can be a challenge (even for former successful principals). It would also be nice to solidify the internal, leadership development pathways so you can retain more of your rising stars.
