Newlink is a great company for starting your career. Is not the best payment but not all is about money. Newlink has huge customers, big brands. You will learn a lot from the real field. They have all the approaches, turism, crisis management, social media, etc. That's the mayor point. Don't think that you will do a long time career here.
Most people here are awesome, like 90% are very nice. You always have this 2 or 3 people that will put a knife in your back. Newlink have them, they are old employees that never moved on and complains about low salary and hate everything.
Always remember, Newlink is a company, they are here to make money, is not an ONG, Work, learn, try to negotiate a better salary and move on. If you stay, don't complain about low salary or benefit, its your choice. And don't kill yourself working after hours thinking that will secure your job. In the very first second that they don't need you they will kick you. That's how companies works.
Most people are afraid of Sergio (The ceo) or hate him for making decisions prioritizing the company. I have a deep respect for him, and even if I don't share the same opinions, he made this company from scratch. so I think he knows a little bit on how this works. If you think that Sergio is doing wrong, go, make your own company.
In resume, salary is low, but you will be paid in acknowledgement too. People are great here, you will be going to work happy to interact with cool affordable people.

HR should fight for a work at home day. especially now that they learned that most employees did their best working from home during covid. CEO is pro to have the office full of workers to show off. But since salaries wont go up... at least give the employee one day at the week to work from home, avoiding the stress of driving, or changing, etc. That would be really good to help the balance.

The cons of working at Newlink are too long to write out but what I can say is that every decision in the company is made by the CEO and the Finance team, therefore everything revolves around money, money, money and sell, sell, sell. Meanwhile HR’s and it’s employees thoughts, comments, concerns are never brought into account. I know its a business BUT when employees bring an issue to HR, they are always dismissed by the common responses: “let me check with finance” or “let me check with the leaders” AKA the CEO. HR has zero power and the staff’s well-being is the company’s least concern. This is one of the main reasons the company's turnover rate is abnormally high.

Leadership sucks. No leaders. Only bosses. Heads are more concerned with their personal image and COA mentality than caring for their teams. No respect for time off. Have you work on weekends, holidays, nights etc. No empathy for personal issues. Micromanages to the fullest degree. No collaboration amongst leaders either. Leaders don’t help each other unless they receive profit. No direction from owner other than sell, sell, sell. Leaders compete to be on owners’s good gracious. If they don’t sell they become part of owner’s blacklist. Can’t bring issue of leadership to human resources either because they don’t help. They only contribute to the mess. Year after year, collaboration and communication from leadership fall short and nothing is done to improve it. Massive improvement needed from the top.
