Flexible hours, fun co-workers (for the most part).
|
Management, if you can call it that, is 1 person, the CEO/Owner. All decisions, big & small, are made by him. He is hard headed, in-flexible, immature, poor decision maker, illogical, makes changes on a whim, makes multiple changes at the same time and then can't figure out what went wrong, horrible with money - spends it all frivolously when there is money then lays people off when there isn't. Not a people person - uncommunicative and not only because he doesn't have a cell phone (that's just a sympton), avoids confrontation at all costs.

It was okay, but it was good to leave.
|
|
The schedule is flexible. The shop people are friendly. The work was decent, when it's busy you can rack up some hours upon approval from the bosses.
|
Management does not treat employees equally. The office people and shop people gets different benefits, office gets all the goods (easy salary, vacation days, PTO and sick days) and shop gets nothing but health insurance. Work fluctuates for the shop, when it's slow there are hour cuts and lay offs. They spend money in the wrong places and won't order the things that are actually needed for the projects.

Received a large amount training in membrane technology and other process equipment in a variety of applications.

Relaxed atmosphere that you can make your own schedule and complete work at own pace. The company is small enough that you get to do many different tasks and duties and so you get a lot of work experience.
|
Not competitive compensation and benefits. Due to small number of sales annually it means that the work load is not consistent, long slow periods followed by being very busy.
