Some very poor leadership from the top. There's no accountability for the higher-ups, so if you happen to be personally disliked by one of them, you're doomed. They also require you to get an NRB-specific cell phone, and in my case asked that I trade my personal cell phone for the NRB phone. Want to know what happened when I was laid off? The people you work with internally and the clients you meet are all on the same page, share the same values and want to make the world a better place through banking. It's an incredibly unique working experience at a financial institution that will change you for the better. The office is immaculate too, and there is much access to lots of fun and interesting events to attend that relate to community empowerment, environmental conservation, clean-tech energy, and more. Small company, hard to move up (unless someone leaves) if there are budget constraints, no formal training program (best if you received training elsewhere and come here with the experience already). From Commuter Benefits (in addition to commuter check which deducts from your payroll) to gym discounts and a wellness incentive. The bank is really committed to educating its employees with speakers and presentation/videos about people/businesses/things that align with the Company's core values. There are annual picnics, holiday parties and sometimes lunch for no specific reason. The building even has a patio on the second floor with a practice putting green for all the golf fans. I've seen/experienced slightly better health benefits, but the plans offered are not "unreasonable". Since the business is not only driven by profit, but their desire to be socially and environmentally conscious, decisions may not always be made the same way as places you may have worked before.
