Benefits, Nice Office and for the most part a good team in the NGINX Core

F5 Acquisition caused a downward spiral in company culture, Regular internal disputes and lack of guidance. I left on good terms as have many of the original team in EMEA and the US. I enjoyed most of the time at NGINX but the future looks stressful and uncertain for remaining staff.

Amazing open source reputation. Very easy to have a conversation about the product with the experience of the modern web. Marketing generates the majority of business giving reps a great chance at success. Great office location as well.

Aggressive clique like culture with management that cannot enable or develop reps. Friendships are the foundation for upward development and not performance or merit based. Those who are unsuccessful can go half a year without hitting quota before there is any evaluation is their process.

All of the inefficiencies are the product of management. There needs to be a clear understanding of a reps goals, incentives and performance that is rewarded by promotion or increased responsibility. Currently, middle management doesn't know how to go to bat for the front line and how to articulate the goals of upper management. The gap between front line reality, middle management experience and upper management ideology is bigger than I have ever experienced previously (especially with a company of this size).
If you want to get better, take exit interviews serious and make changes so that you do not have to hear the same thing 2 months later from the next rep.
