In my time on staff there I grew exponentially both professionally and spiritually. The staff culture is fast paced and exciting. Projects are collaborative and creative. Expectations are set high for performance and professionalism, but your resources and support allow you to be successful when tasked with a ministry program project. They will support you to succeed. We go to lunch as a staff every Tuesday just to build friendships. I was trained on several devices and picked up new things to help out. They were clean most of the time, the staff was respectful of my space and the work I did. Most of the support staff were enjoyable to work with and incredibly talented. Unfortunately, the further up the chain you look the more inept and out of touch leadership was. Most employees leave after 2 or 3 years due to under appreciation, poor compensation for the hours worked, and lack of Christ-centered vision. If Northview truly enabled their middle management to coach and appreciate their staff, it would be a much more enjoyable place to work. Most lead staff members were tied up in budgetary and resource arguments to see their current needs of staff, volunteers, and congregants. There are much better church staff cultures to work with in central Indiana.
