In the past year, several smart, ambitious, and valuable employees have left because they did not feel their hard work was appreciated.

This company is unethical from head to toe. Upper management and a few other employees are made up of a group close guy friends. Unless you're a part of this inner circle, good luck getting the same amount of respect. Multiple employees have voiced their concerns about how they felt mistreated and unheard and yet years later, the same issues continue to come up. You will work long hours during the week and weekend. This place is tragic...I had high hopes for this company but it's been fail after fail.

Worst company ever, very big egos at the top management. They don't care about anything on the inside, just what the outside looks like. You're a number to the company. Constantly battling work burn-outs, work schedules are OFTEN changing, You're expected to adhere to that, but when you're ready to schedule anything, it becomes a battle. Residents are just a number too. Save your sanity and stay away!

One downside is that the great pay might overshadow other important factors like work environment or company culture, potentially leading to employees staying in toxic or unsatisfying roles solely for the compensation.

I worked as a leasing consultant at Northwood Ravin's Chapel Hill location, and it was by far the worst job experience I've ever had. The property manager, Jamie, created a toxic environment reminiscent of high school. She constantly gaslit me, making each workday unbearable. Jamie's passive-aggressive behavior further exacerbated the situation, as she discouraged me at every chance she had. Her micro-managing tendencies only added to the stress, and I found myself dreading coming to work every day. Jamie's behavior extended to gossiping about me with other coworkers, fostering a hostile and unprofessional atmosphere. Despite HR's involvement, the situation never improved, leaving me feeling helpless and demoralized. Additionally, HR's lack of professionalism was evident when they came to the office intoxicated, further exacerbating the situation. It was clear that HR was not there to support me, but rather to protect the company's interests. While the pay and commission structure were attractive, they weren't worth sacrificing my mental health for. I strongly advise avoiding the Chapel Hill location unless significant changes are made in management.

If you find that everyone is giving you the same feedback on how you treat your employees, you should probably listen at some point instead of making your corporate employees cover up the negative reviews with positive ones. We get it, they are compensated and promoted heavily for their undying loyalty.

Condense your senior leadership team. So many hands in the pot that it actually makes it difficult for the on-site teams to get actual, credible help. A lady in a tank top that does nothing but buy foods for onsite team isn’t necessarily helpful and shouldn’t be a real job…but at NWR, it is. Truly think about your company structure and reevaulate positions/people to see if it’s actually needed. Throwing more people at a probably might not be a solution…
