This company was horrific to work for. The senior management has unattainable expectations and the compensation rates were far too low. Extremely understaffed and the moral couldn’t be lower. This was a very toxic place to work.

Not a place for independent thinkers

I was a CNA and I loved the work, loved the residents, got along with most coworkers and most staff, pay was decent but they were not flexible about hours, residents were allowed to disrespect and try to hurt staff and they brushed it off. One nurse was suspected of being on drugs and they did nothing. Understaffing was a DAILY problem. Some days I would have a whole unit to myself. If you tried to help a coworker they got mad. If you didn’t help they got mad. Management could be a lot better.

Great Employer

Oak Grove is a challenging but VERY rewarding career choice!! The best employer I have ever had even though I suffered an injury and was no longer with the company. Full time hours are guaranteed as well as a vehicle for transportation. Staff are made to feel very supported and appreciated!! I would definitely recommend giving Oak Grove a try

Staff are the worse part of the job
|
Staff were worse than the kids. Therapists and staff start rumors when they're bored or feel threaten by their own insecurities because you are well liked by residents and other non-problematic staff. If you want high school drama and looking for attention from male workers, this is the job for you. Staff love new FEMALE employees and they will try to add you on social media within days of working there. If the kids like and respect you, be prepare to hear from higher management about how you must have "poor boundaries" and are "unprofessional" while most of the higher staff (mostly Dorm A-female dorm) are the main unprofessional ones talking about other employees and even the residents right in front of other residents. If you're a 24 years old or older and mature enough not to mingle with co workers than by all means, apply.
One more thing, EVERYONE knows EVERYONE there so don't try to reach for help when needed because they will act like they are all for you but they are not and those who should be fired for unjust actions and behaviors will be there until Oak Grove shuts down.
