Oculus360 is one of the best big data analyze companies. There many talented people working together here. Everyone has a sharp mind and many brilliant ideas. It's so much fun to work here, share your thoughts with the team and make something that takes people breath away.

Because we're solving problems that no one tried to solve before and the solutions are so wide open, it sometimes overwhelms me and put a lot of pressure on my shoulder. But it's not a big problem for me, since I like to do something different and challenging. If you're not this type of people, you may not like to work here.

Oculus360 is pulling in big clients from varied industries with company names you recognize. We mine product reviews and social data from the mountains of public internet data. Next we apply highly specialized data science to create veins of customer-product relationships. Then we give our customers a killer UI with which they can uncover the gems of customer insights. It's all done with technology developed in-house by the best brains.
We had a few growing pains in the first few years. But the founders, investors, and management have been fearless about making the hard decisions to remove some people who were not working out, restructure the company, and re-fill with the best talent. Things are looking sweet now, revenue is up, and all investors at the last board meeting were happy!
Great feeling of productivity. Daily "morning email" takes a minute or less. No slackers here, everybody pulls their weight. Management listens, cares, and seeks input. We are constantly trying out new technology and accepting new challenges, so every day is exciting.
As a developer, this is a great company to stretch your abilities. You will be free to discover needs, and invent whatever is needed to fill the gap. All without micro-managing.

In the past, long periods of time went by without any talk or indication of compensation adjustments, leading to uncertainty in the lower ranks. Turns out this was related to the funding cycle, but we would have liked to have been kept up to speed. There is a false assumption that everyone understands how the company financials work. However, everyone got raises and stock options in the next funding cycle, and there are plans to institute periodic salary reviews this fall.
Not a good place to be a cog in a machine. Everyone on the team is their own intelligent machine, working with others to achieve the same goals. We're a small company, so everyone is expected to be pro-active, to volunteer, to take risks, to take ownership, to be inventive, and to contribute their unique and creative thoughts to all aspects of the company. But if you want to do more than what your current silo allows, you will do well here.

The problems that you solve are very open ended in nature which is typical in any start up. People with creative brains like to solve open-ended jobs and so they might enjoy working here. However, this place might not be suitable for people who are not willing to think outside the box.

Growing with new management

Oculus360 is doing some of the coolest work in the big data analytics space for brands and agencies. It seems like every month we are working for a new customer with a logo that you would recognize. We have a flexible work environment with some pretty nice people and leadership that does seem to care about us. Recently we had a change in the CEO role, but the communication around that was pretty good and I like what I am seeing so far.

Sometimes there can be a lack of hardened requirements because of the velocity of change in technology and the use of our existing tools to solve hard business problems, so if that is what you need to feel comfortable in a role, this could be a bad fit.
