The only thing they care about is headcount and numbers and not the quality of programs or the quality of staff they hire! Save yourself and run now! Working Security for Ogden-Weber Technical College was super fun working here. They really care about you and I made great relationships. Working with other departments on campus kind of sucks because those other departments made it rough but, that really didn't effect anything. I got to make relationships with different faculty members. As an employee you get free haircuts. Overall was a great place to work. People in other departments made it difficult to work with for different situations. private:ogden-weberappliedtechnologycollege https://www.glassdoor.com?employer_id=1326527 Sep 10th, 2020 12:00AM Open Open Ogden-Weber Tech College Yeah Right United States USA Current employee, don't recommend Good students (mostly) Some great staff members to work with (eh... relative but still mostly) Decent benefits (if you are salaried of course) Where do I start..... - Management is out of touch with reality, let alone their staff. - Limited wages and opportunities (unless you have a degree, doesn't even have to be in your field of instruction). Often times much less than you make elsewhere. Oh.. and don't be fooled by the job posting wage. - Hypocritical environment, won't hire you unless you have a degree, yet award certificates instead. - Awful middle management that muddies the water further with their own "agenda" and views - Some instructors aren't best suited for their programs of instruction (even with a degree and six years of experience). This leads to "zig-zag" instruction that keeps students from really getting good skills (I like to call this being educationally dizzy). - Incredible amounts of mixed information that leads you to becoming confused at/for every process. Lots of process's that even hurt the overall college (staff to student) - Heavy lean on rewarding the wrong people for the wrong things... not sure what that's about. Back up your staff instead of leaving them high and dry. Stop bringing in the wrong people for the job (don't let a fancy degree with gold leafing blind you to reality, you don't need a degree to teach skills). The management gives all the perks to the incoming employees. They are offered higher pay and status than employees that have been there a lot longer. The attitude seems to be that hourly employees are a dime a dozen. There are way too many managers and they're all salaried. It's all about the haves and the have nots over there. You needed to be in "the club" to advance. private:ogden-weberappliedtechnologycollege https://www.glassdoor.com?employer_id=1326527 Mar 9th, 2018 12:00AM Open Open Ogden-Weber Tech College United States USA Best to use as a short-term step (very short) - Many of the faculty and staff are honest hard workers - High paying positions with little or no education and little or no experience (many supervisors hired around $60,000 to $70,000 have no degree and no supervisory experience) - Many offices have little or no accountability so very flexible hours - and can put in very few hours for full time pay if desired - Lax values - can be good if you're into that.... - Company is trying to get by with hourly part time workers so they do not have to pay benefits and they do not pay them well so constant change and training - Full time workers are not in social security so unless you spend your whole time there or have enough years somewhere else you're social security may get really messed up with years of work that don't count toward the payout later - People doing the work aren't getting paid, people managing them but not working over 10-15 hours per week get paid high wages - Unstable - several coworkers show up one day to no job - they are let go on the spot after several years and after the motto is the "ow family" takes care of it's own - not the kind of care of a functional family - so beware. Never quite know who can be trusted. Some of the leadership roles are filled with trustworthy individuals, most are not. It was a great experience, and it was outstanding working along side the marketing department, integrating skills and projects. I never had any issues working for them at all.
