Not secure at all

I joined Omada as a contract health coaching in January 2020. It has a very open work culture and managers do not micromanage so that was a definite plus for me. This is a good job for someone who enjoys flexibility and autonomy in the work. The messaging can get a bit tedious/redundant (80 reach outs per day), but the job itself is not very stressful.
On the downside, the position was temporary with a chance rehire but no real clarity on why who is rehired and who is not. Several coaches were rehired for July and I was not one of them. It was big disappointment considering I was always given positive feedback and told I was an excellent coach along with having excellent surveys. There was no transparency about who was rehired and why. Also, salaries are low (early 40’s) with no explanation for how the salary works, why you are offered that salary, and minimal opportunity for pay raises the work culture was nice but I was disappointed to have worked so hard and have none of my hard work recognized but upper management. I would not return because of that. It seems that favoritism may be underlying the hiring decisions. There’s a lot of talking and smiling but no real follow through or effort to keep you on even if you work your heart out, so don’t work too hard.
Cons: (they exceeded character limit in the bottom so moved here lol)
Zero job security but you say you’re a culture that cares for people yet you recycle your hard working employees like garbage because money is most important, don’t even acknowledge all the hard work we do at meetings and pretend nothing ever happened when you just laid off half the company, only talk about acquisitions and how they can make more money (by firing you), for that you get two stars from me, they claim you’re ineligible for unemployment bc it’s temporary but most states would disagree,
ineligible for FMLA because “6 month contract loophole” and dental insurance is terrible “upgraded” was a waste because nothing is covered

Help to Make a difference in people’s lives, no micromanaging, flexible schedules, unlimited vacation pay

No job security, favoritism, zero visibility on hiring or salad decisions, tedious redundant work

Health coaches are given flexibility for schedules and PTO when needed. I've been able to go to school part-time while working full-time because the work hours are asynchronous.

Great work life balance

Great work life balance with a company that overall treats their employees well. Pay is poor in comparison, however other benefits of job out weigh this for me. It's a start up company that is very trendy.

|
Omada was a great place to work. Unlimited time off, great health insurance, work from home and even expensed work stations.
But be aware that the contract position is temporary with very little chance of being hired on fulltime.

Very flexible hours and working from home was awesome. However be prepared to leave if you accept a contract job with them. They hired 56 of us in January and got rid of 46 of us in July. The company will use you when client volume is high then leave you out to dry when they're done with you. They pay all coaches the same low salary regardless if you have a Masters and professional health credentials as someone just out of college in an unrelated field. Managers are nice though.

I really enjoyed my time at Omada Health. I don't feel strongly about whether the company will be successful. My one complaint is that some people weren't trying very hard. I felt like there needed to be more hustle, but some people seemed to only wanted to work a 9-5.
