Good work, good team, not much future.

The people who work for Onkyo are terrific and work very well together. Very supportive and helpful towards each other. Also challenging and encouraging.
The accounting/hr manager is good at her job and fair with staff.
The technical support team is very knowledgeable.
The marketing director is genius.
|
The Japanese culture is very dismissive of and discriminatory against women. Managers of each department are temporary for two or so years from the HQ in Japan. They tend to work well with the USA managers (who are mostly white males), but even in those cases mostly do not consider input from the US group worth much consideration.

Great hands on experience working with home theater equipment and learning about new technology for audiophiles, great coworkers, fair earnings.

Long term temp position. Worked there 2 years with no sign of being hired as permanent, high expectations with little reward. Wished things were different and I may have stayed.
