The company cares. Great internship program. Interns are given real projects and authority. Good experience and it is the company's main way of hiring.
Good work-life balance. Located in a beautiful area if you like outdoor activities, but there isn't much to do for people under 50.

Behind the times. Used to be part of a big company 15-20 years ago. Run down since then. Lab equipment and office tech is really old.
A lot of who-you-know and who-you-are-related-to. Seems like half of the employees belong to 3-4 extended families.
Maybe not the place for diversity. One of the sons of the owner posted a "blue lives matter" flag in the middle of the main office - where it stayed the whole time I was there.

The company culture is amazing, all the people working there are lovely and it was a pleasure working there for 6 months. Everyone is also super accessible including the president of the company and if I had any problems they were fixed quickly.
