AVOID at all costs

Met some great people but that's the only positive
|
The management is inexperienced, lacks communication and does not care about their employees. Contract employees make up a large majority of the team and they are treated as inferior to those who are permanent. There is no instruction or training-on my first day I was left to figure out what to do myself and with all the minor details being essential to success it's no wonder they have such a high employee turnover. No one explains how to navigate the software program they use, nor what is expected of you. Management also likes to gossip--during 1-1 meetings with my boss she would tell me personal details surrounding the termination of several employees and ask my opinions of my coworkers, instead of discussing my performance. They give the majority of the work to permanent employees leaving contractors with little to do. Words cannot describe how horrendous this place is and how the employees feel about their work environment. Employee turnover rates here are the highest that I've ever seen at any place of employment due to the manner in which employees are treated. They also fire people without cause, citing fault on the employees part when they were never told they were making mistakes or given warnings previously in order for them to correct the issue. Policies are not given out in writing or verbally so when someone has made an error or done something against policy they were never aware that it was an issue. If you don't kiss the managers butt, you have no chance of success. There were two favorites who would spend at least an hour a day in the managers office just chatting and they were the ones who received the most praise, even though they did the least amount of work. Employees are set up to fail and no one is doing anything to correct this. Overall, this place is a joke.

Implement training for new hires, fire current management in favor of someone who HAS EXPERIENCE as a leader and who can actually manage their employees. Treat your employees like human beings.

Healthy work ethic, original projects, constant learning
Client/customer service orientated
The company is involved in many sides of a design projects, which helped me improve my knowledge pool and increase my awareness of how a mistakes might spread across various parts of the project.
The passion for design is contagious and very helpfull when you have a bad day

occasionally long hrs, extremely perfectionist culture/core value
