Awful company culture

Even though it's a 10 year old company, because of the high turn over, the team is pretty young, which means hopefully room to grow. Although they value meritocracy, so no matter how well you do, there's always going to be awful people with more tenured that would be considered ahead of any new comers.

Pressure to go into the office when covid numbers are so high, they don't care about our safety.
Useless meetings that can be summarized by emails.
Won't pay for technology and stuck with limitation of free software.
Very hard to look for company information because of the way it is archived, and when you ask for something you're made to feel like an idiot.

Very unfriendly and toxic culture. Promoting someone who is seriously awful and does not understand her role KPIs and what needs to be done. Openly be mean to people in meetings. In her meeting, she just presented things she from googled which is a pure joke.

Great spirit, values and working environment !

I like the young and international team with great people and good management : communicative, flexible, fair, hard working and generous. Here, I have a real sense of being useful, being part of a whole and helping the company grow. The office is a really nice place to work at (when we're not working from home) and easy to access with the public transportation or by car.

Everyone is nice but don't be mistaken, business growth is important here and we all have targets to guide us and motivate us to do our best. So this is not the place to chat around all day.

Optimy is a growing company, the environment is fast paced, not in a bad way, but you'll work a lot. So it's not your scene if you're looking for a 9 to 5. Again, you're being rewarded, and the job is really fun, so it makes working a lot better than in a job you don't like.

Great personal and professional growth

Working for Optimy the past 2 years and a half has been a tremendous experience for me. I learned more about myself and the corporate world than the past decade.
Through Optimy you will be able to grow personally and professionally.
You are working in an international environment which brings great value thanks to the mix of cultures and thinking it brings. It allows Optimy to get different perspectives on specific matters.
You are also valued for your skills, capabilities and what makes you unique instead of what is on your CV. I personally was working at a first job where I was not performing nor bringing any kind of value or else to the company. Instead of getting fired, I got a sit down with the senior management to understand and find a more suitable position for me. That was 2 years ago and since then I am performing, I am bringing value to the company and I have been rewarded for it many times.
One last thing is that working with Optimy you will definitely not get bored and see changes at a fast pace. Keep in mind that Optimy is a fast growing scale up and the Optimy for 6 months ago looks nothing alike ! New processes see the light of day every morning and not only to better manage the revenue or clients but also to better manage the employees and interns to grant them the communication, space and safety they need.
Being part of this continuously growth and improvement is definitely fulfilling

Related to my last paragraph from the "Pros" section, do not expect to do a 9-5 and to not get some pressure. Because whatever department you will be working in, there will always be things to do and main reason comes from the fact that Optimy is growing at such a pace that we continuously need to hire more and more people but hiring the right person at the right place takes time.
Personally for me this is still a Pro because you can be part of an interesting growth and keep busy.
Now of course Optimy has its fair share of things to improve such as communication, management, etc but as I mentioned, these things are getting improved every single day and the Optimy from 6 months ago seems like years away just like the one of today will for the future Optimy.

Move fast and don't break things

Working in a Product team gives one a great vantage point in a company as you sit at the tech, design, business, marketing, sales and client support intersection. This is a wonderful position to be in because you get to see much of a company's culture as well as engage with various teams and the individual colleagues within those teams. And at Optimy I am still to meet an unpleasant colleague. That really is the first thing you learn here. The people are amazing.
2020 so far has stretched office culture and the traditional way of doing things to its limits. The response to the Covid-19 crisis from all teams, as well as management, has been incredible to see. Colleagues made an effort to support one another while working remotely and productivity within the company even felt like it went up during lockdown. Regular updates and transparent communication from management provided strong guidance through what is still a very difficult period globally.
Helping to shape a product that is not only interesting and full of challenges (the reason why most Product people work in Product!) but which also plays its small part in making the world a better place also adds a lot of positivity to the job.

Keep ticking of those tasks because they pile up quickly if you're not careful.
