Great company, but offshore handling

Minimal manager interaction. Set our own schedule and travel. Great pay, decent meal allowance.

They just can't get it together. Much work is now done in Asia and has resulted in downsizing the American workforce. A great product, great people, but their corporate computer systems lack cohesion. Poor communication between service groups and engineering and lack of documentation was always an issue. Lack of response to real in-field issues was disheartening.

- Good exposure in medical device industry.
- Worked with cross-functional departments.
- Gained a lot of technical knowledges and experiences.
- Became great negotiator to solve many issues, disagreement, conflict of interest.
- Learned a lot from cost cutting measures to products quality improvements.
- Great co-worker, some smart people.
- Became better communicator with different personalities/characters of people

- Its all start from the top. The company seems to run by 2 different groups: Operation/Finance and Engineering.
- No team work. Everyone wants what easy and convenience for them.
- Upper management turn over, created chaotic environment, and new policies.
- No career advancement. They don't promote within the company, no cross departments promotion.
- Lack of communications among departments and mgmt from top to bottom, causing confusion, project delays, "wait and see", bottle necked change process, etc.
- Low morale became "just do it and collect pay check". No motivation after years of conflict of interest among departments.
- Incompetence people don't know what & how to do root cause analysis, all they do is point fingers.

They only care about their own pay checks, power, and pride!
How can you sell products of competitive price by cutting corners/cheap material that impacting the quality/performance? (They get what they pay for)
