- Easy job with no direct management or responsibility
- Work from home or vacation whenever you want

- Management lies to employees about company performance
- At least 30% of the staff has found a new job in the last two years
- There don't seem to be any goals or responsibilities for various departments
- No vision - no one will commit to taking this company into the future
- The culture is just completely toxic. Senior management hires their friends rather than the most qualified people.
- When a decision needs to be made to change a product because customers are leaving by the dozen, a decision can’t be made. It’s easier to make no decision than it is to make a decision that admits things need to change
- In a non-toxic culture, management and staff are one and people are accountable. Sentences like “Management needs to do…” are not relevant because staff can make decisions and the two sides of the business are one
- When people decide to leave or mention they are thinking of leaving, they are talked about as traitors.

Originate has a great, incredibly smart team in offices all over the United States. Originate has been great at letting people work how they want to and supporting different work styles and situations. Their portfolio of partners is impressive and they produce great, innovative products (when they follow their processes).

Unfortunately Originate is losing their innovative edge – their people. The new leadership has been so focused on securing new business, they’ve lost touch with employees. Leadership lacks vision and the company is missing key pieces like goals, values, and transparency. Engineers have no direction but could be working on projects that help sales, the design team seems to be shrinking to oblivion and the product team has felt leaderless. Without clear career paths or interesting projects to work on, people are questioning the future of Originate.
