It had a lot of potential as an online auction house. Alexander was a great charismatic leader while he was still around. A floundering business that was mismanaged into the ground. The Iza years were especially bad as the company mismanaged funds, and were spending income from charity auctions to cover operating costs. Most staff were inexperienced in the art world. The people with the most power were poor managers, and the company ultimately suffered an embarrassing public lawsuit and bankruptcy. There is a lot of room to advance in the company should you seek out opportunities to take on more responsibility. Upper level management does not seem to have a clear understanding of what each role entails, who is doing what, and the work each individual employee is doing day-to-day. Upper management does not micro-mange, growth opportunities, access to events, flexibility to work from home as needed, casual and fun work environment but most importantly an amazing group of people with a superb newly appointed CEO. Like most small companies, there are some roadblocks we face in getting tasks across the finish line, there's some confusion around company policies, but HR is always as transparent as they can be.
