The founder could not care less and is constantly on vacation!!! Unlimited PTO is only unlimited for some but definitely not all. The male CEO is surrounded by yes-people who are all catty gatekeepers of company culture. Pretends to be a women-empowering company when in reality it’s just toxic men in leadership roles who roll their eyes at and speak over women. Takes months for any feedback to be acknowledged (if ever)!!! Everyone is miserable and constantly on edge since there have been three major waves of layoffs and tons of quiet layoffs. Not to mention they opened way too many stores with no idea how to run them. Zero growth and pay is not competitive. -1.0 NEGATIVE -1.0 NEGATIVE -1.0 DISAPPROVE 1.0 1.0 2.0 1.0 1.0 4.0 1.0 2.0 1177117 Open 0.0 [] REGULAR No No 0.0 Open Apr 9th, 2024 05:29PM Apr 9th, 2024 05:29PM Parachute Home Consumer Goods Personal Goods

Free/Discounted Bedding Relaxed Work Environment Love the people I work with! I feel set up for success with the extensive training provided Fun events that connect us to the community Actual meaningful connections with customers No commission which allows the team to collaborate on sales instead of being in competition with each other Consistent hours make it easier to live my life outside of work Customers interactions can be hit or miss. Some are lovely and really value what you have to say, but others might have you running around in circles and can be quite patronizing just because they have money to spend. HQ and upper management are out of touch with retail locations. Despite having biweekly company feedback surveys, it doesn’t actually do anything. I’ve given constructive criticism or mentioned things that could be fixed, but they either ignore it or blame someone on my team who had nothing to do with it. When the yearly culture survey came out, I didn’t even feel comfortable being completely honest because I know no one would listen. Items are out of stock quite frequently, and it can be a hassle trying to locate items for customers or we lose out on sales. 1.0 POSITIVE 0.0 NEUTRAL 0.0 NO_OPINION 0.0 4.0 5.0 4.0 3.0 5.0 2.0 4.0 1177117 Open 0.0 [] PART_TIME No Yes 2.0 Open Mar 24th, 2024 09:55PM Mar 24th, 2024 09:55PM Parachute Home Consumer Goods Personal Goods

private:parachutehome https://www.glassdoor.com?employer_id=1177117 Dec 30th, 2023 12:00AM Open Open Parachute Keyholder Off the rails free (used) product, decent benefits, decent pay depending on store location, some perks (quickly dwindling) Company nearly doubled its retail presence with absolutely no support to teams, resulting in many new stores getting little to no training outside of basic product knowledge, and would later be punished for not properly executing processes and procedures that they had never been informed of. Randomly changes standard operating procedures and doesn’t tell store teams and then holds them accountable for things they weren’t aware of. They really only care about maybe 6 or 7 of the stores and the favoritism is wildly clear. Did three rounds of layoffs in one year (2 HQ, 1 retail) and are continuing to cut hours because they’re scrambling to save money; the company hasn’t been profitable in over two years (essentially since the expansion). Their culture and values are absolutely all talk, more and more products are being greenwashed and customers can tell. The store experience is very standard retail, no work life balance, unrealistic expectations, no understanding of the customer and won’t take any feedback from store teams, and no internal growth at all. They reforecast constantly to make it look like stores are performing well even though pretty much the entire company is doing worse every year. They expect teams to plan lavish, busy events with $50 and tell you to buy refreshments that cost $300 with said $50. The majority of the brand identity is its aesthetic and sustainability and there’s no standardized look across stores because no one gets proper training and the products are getting very greenwashed. No support from upper management if you have issues with store leaders, if you can manage to chat with them they report it all back and essentially perpetuate retaliation even though they have a “strict policy” against it. Retail stores will likely get closed at some point because majority just aren’t profitable - don’t apply if you want job security. -1.0 NEGATIVE -1.0 NEGATIVE -1.0 DISAPPROVE 7.0 1.0 1.0 1.0 1.0 3.0 1.0 1.0 1177117 Open Actually reach out to your store teams and consider their feedback - they work directly with your customer every day. Stop hiring the most corporate managers you can to try and militarize store teams and go back to the culture you originally built. Micromanagement makes people quit. 0.0 [] REGULAR No No 2.0 Open Jan 9th, 2024 06:15AM Jan 9th, 2024 06:15AM Parachute Home Consumer Goods Personal Goods
private:parachutehome https://www.glassdoor.com?employer_id=1177117 Dec 18th, 2023 12:00AM Open Open Parachute Disappointed Created great relationships with coworkers, never minded who I came in to work with. Sales is easy and repetitive. Great experiences with customers. When I first joined they had just laid off many Part-Timers and were desperate for new recruits like myself. They are now repeating history because the company is cheap and are reducing hours extremely, pushing people to quit. My store was very divided between those who liked management and those who were against it- so much passive aggression. -1.0 NEGATIVE -1.0 NEGATIVE -1.0 DISAPPROVE 0.0 3.0 4.0 2.0 2.0 2.0 1.0 4.0 1177117 Open Be honest, be sensitive, be consistent, be considerate of your team. 0.0 [] PART_TIME No Yes 1.0 Open Dec 22nd, 2023 07:45PM Dec 22nd, 2023 07:45PM Parachute Home Consumer Goods Personal Goods
