For some when money disappears nothing happens to them. Certain people show up if and when they feel like it. One excuse after another on why they can't work their shift. These people are terrible at making the employee at any level but the top feel welcome or valued. You are expected to perform with broken equipment often not properly maintained. These people will do anything to save a buck and blame you for it not working. Don't work for these people. The processes work in a very cold and wet environment. Way to long of hours sometimes 16 hours plus. You don't leave until all of the work is done. With that being said the floor manager will add on to the processing schedual throughout the day and he goes home. I have never been in the food/restaurant industry so the learning experience was exciting. Management was hardly ever in the office and when they were, they very seldom interrupted my work. There were not hard parts to the job. The job itself was great and I genuinely liked the work itself. The co-workers were really helpful and considerate. I did notice there was a lot of gossiping and certain supervisors talking badly about employees in the open, which isn't very professional. During the interview I was told to expect 45-48 hr weeks (5-8 hours of OT) but I avg'd 39 hrs during my time there, which factored in my decision to quit based on my 45 minute commute each way. The benefits were really expensive for the coverage. I started at 16.00 an hour. I was informed by fellow employees the "raises" were a joke and expect like .5-10 cents an hour if I'm lucky. My personal supervisor was great and very helpful and seemed to genuinely care about all his direct reports. Very nice guy. Management isn't at all but most of the time you don't even need to speak with them and they leave you alone. Just get in your truck do you route and go home it's as easy as that.
