This company has offered me a chance to develop skills and understanding of the tasks preformed with in my professional field. Mistakes were made a number of time on my part but I was not punished or degraded because of it. I was helped through the process again and again with supportive advice and guidance. They really put there best foot forward in making you the best you can be both in the work place and outside of the work place. The time I spent with them really carved a clear picture of who I want to be in my life and at work. I left Parallel only because I am know living out of state and miss the supportive environment they offered.

Don't be a mom to a newborn here
|
I was hired when my son was a newborn. I shared my intent to continue pumping in my interview and I was told there would be a space provided. I quit my job to work for them. My first day, I was escorted to a dirty single person bathroom with no chair, no table, and certainly no fridge to store my milk. This was by the owner's sister in law, who was the HR department.
I lasted a year with them, before I began grad school and left for better opportunities.

Culture, Many Upper Management Are Related,

CEO talked through you rather then too you. It was so obvious he was always sizing you up, rather then truly engaging honestly with you and being real. My hunch is the CEO lands somewhere on the spectrum and hitch his wagon to the wrong horse who you will learn later is the boy wonder.
My direct supervisor who happen to be the boy wonder, was revered by upper management (many related) thus my deducing and crowning him him the boy wonder who including the CEO thought he could do know wrong, For those who worked for him, we all just wondered why he was the boy wonder... he rose to that position through snowing the CEO, and how it was possible the CEO did not recognize the 25-30 hour work weeks he was putting in was beyond all of us? Plus disseminating and deceiving untruths to make himself look good. Truly he did not lead by example. He did leverage a huge client that created revenue and job security and even future promotions.

In looking back, I realized that I was stagnated in my role, as it was very repetitive and very lil chance for advancement in the 7 years I was there and no change in compensation over the 7 years salary wise, just a trip bonus at the end of the year if your goal was reached.
