No respect for creating comfortable working conditions in the office and office attendance mandatory even if you're all alone in a room for 8.5 hours. When I joined the company, I was the only one who needed to be in the office 3 days a week, while they were very open about everyone else being in the office only one day a week. And that meant that, even though I was going to be all alone in the office, it was still important that I go. When people were in, there was constant complaining about cold it is, and even leadership said 'next time I need to bring my gloves because my hands are freezing'. When I brought it up, I was was told that I should ask reception. I told them that I did and reception said there's nothing they can do about it. And I still had to be in 3 days a week because that's what was in my contract. 2. No respect for people's wellbeing. You can be ill, coughing your lungs out, and they will still want you in the office, unless you're testing positive for COVID or taking a sick day. Working from home when you are ill is not an option. There is no respect for colleagues' wellbeing and potential risk of contracting an unnecessary cold, because your contract says you need to be in the office. I communicated that I don't feel comfortable giving other people my cold, and the reply was this is an office environment and colds are normal and to be expected. 3. Inclusion is massively lacking. During my probation review, I was told that I need to be careful with what I say around the office because 'friendships are already established' and I'm new. Which in this context meant that people will tell their 'friends' what they've heard, which bring me to... 4. THE GOSSIP. Oh my god, the gossip. First of all, every single word that came out of my mouth was reported to my manager afterwards. Now whether I actually did say those things or not, was never questioned, and I was stuck dealing with whatever spur of creativity my colleagues had. I had a day full of Teams meetings while I was in the office, and I couldn't do those in the office as the office was very loud (unnecessarily loud). I went to another place in the office building to have my meetings and, the next day feedback was shared with me that colleagues are worried I might be looking for another job because I left the office a lot on that day. Everyone talks negatively about each other behind people's backs, and in my time at PPI I learned way too many personal things about my colleagues, and all were through gossip that was shared with me despite me not contributing to the conversation. 5. There is no respect for people and their work. I was kicked out of a meeting room that I had officially booked, during a meeting with a customer. The reason was that more senior people needed that room for a meeting and there is only one meeting room available, so they needed to be in there. I was sent back to the main office area while I was still on the video call with my customer, as they were waiting for me to move to a new place. Those senior people came out of the meeting room before my meeting finished, and although I was very clearly still in my meeting with my customer, they started talking and laughing loudly with other colleagues, and it was all about personal things. When I mentioned that I would like to be made aware in advance next time I need to do my meetings somewhere else than where I officially booked, I was told that I'm trying to pick a fight and this is not actually important, it's just 'noise'. 6. Gaslighting and manipulation. The amount of times I was gaslit by leadership is genuinely concerning. You get told that you said something that never actually came out of your mouth, and then you are held accountable for it. 7. Leadership refuse to accept their mistakes and will do anything they can to make it your fault. I was held accountable for not having implemented changes in my accounts that were communicated & implemented by colleagues in their accounts before I even joined the company. When I joined, no one told me that this needed to be done. but it was my fault. 8. No effort in developing people. All talk and no action, they keep talking about stretching people and developing them, but I had no development plan or KPIs in 5 months. When I asked what my KPIs are, I was told 'to grow the accounts'. 9. If it's not exactly what your manager would do, it's wrong. They talk about how they want people to share their ideas and bring in their own perspective, but the moment you share anything for approval that your manager wouldn't do exactly as you said, it's completely wrong and you're not doing your job properly. 10. Confusion regarding line manager. For 5 months, sales director tells me SNAM is my manager. SNAM tells me that they don't have a say in anything and I need to check with the sales director even if I want to swap an office day. Sales director sends me to SNAM because that's who manages me, 11. No P&L responsibility. There is no P&L for your account and you never get to see that unless you're the sales director. 12. No category data. All they have access to is market share. Not very useful when your buyers ask you for category data and all you have to show is pretty slides and a pretty brush. 13. No price files or promotional guidelines. If you want to know the MRRP of something, you need to ask your colleagues. If you want to know the maximum promotional funding, you need to ask your colleagues, 14. All talk no action about prioritization. I looked after 5 accounts, out of which 3 Top 4 grocers. Despite an insane workload coming from the 3 grocers, I was still (very intensely) held accountable for not having actioned the smallest things on the smaller accounts, because I should have already actioned that 5 months into the role. However 5 accounts are not easy to manage and my first couple of months in the business coincided with next year planning... Which brings me to... 15. Directions unclear and always changing. Directions shared many times on how to complete a task. Followed steps, presented. All wrong, need to redo it, that's not what they said I should be doing. Given new instructions, followed them. Again - not what they said I should do, When confronted with the email they initially shared with the instructions, gaslighting began to happen. Both me and another colleague went through the same thing so it wasn't just me not understanding the instructions. 16. Escalating to manager's manager is a no-no. Had a question around days in the office, to which my manager said 'you need to be in 3 days a week even if you're ill'. Asked manager's manager about this, and then my manager told me that they were not comfortable with me speaking to their manager, and I should not speak to their manager about any issues at all. -1.0 NEGATIVE -1.0 NEGATIVE 0.0 NO_OPINION 0.0 1.0 1.0 1.0 1.0 1.0 1.0 1.0 250978 Open You cannot create an 'office culture' with only 1-2 people showing up to the office constantly, while everyone else is in one day a week. That's just not what 'culture' means. Be honest and open in interview stages about: - days in the office, until 5:30pm whether you take a lunch break or not - the fact that not all colleagues are in the office the same number of days - lack of P&L visibility - category data being only market share and nothing more - number of accounts they will be managing - take them for an office tour so they can see the lack of meeting rooms and test the freezing temperatures by themselves I would recommend management training for managers, with a focus on being open-minded, not micromanaging, and respecting their direct reports as human beings. 0.0 [] REGULAR No No 1.0 Open Mar 2nd, 2024 04:13AM Mar 2nd, 2024 04:13AM Paris Presents Consumer Goods

Had a chance to work with many great creative coworkers and unfortunately most of them have already left the company. Terrible leadership coming from CEO, SVP of marketing to the new creative director they recently hired. CEO and private equity is too involved in to day to day activities. They recently hired a creative director for just a couple of days after our previous creative director left. New creative director is trying to change everything within all the brands without understanding and learning the brand's vision/identity. Later on all her requested changes, are being rejected by cross-functional teams. Doesn't know how to communicate and collaborate with the creative team.
