The company is predicated on the concept that anyone can develop into an executive, and that with rigorous “mentorship” across a performance framework you could stay with the company for your entire career. The company unfortunately does not live up to that promise, with people unprepared for promotion, and ill equipped for managerial and leadership roles. As a result, leaders are hired from outside, and high performing individuals leave by the time they hit manager level.

Great place to start a career or be a consultant

I've really enjoyed my time at Pariveda. I started there out of college and have been here for over a half decade. I got to see a ton of different companies, technologies, and ways of running projects, which has helped me realize what I want out of my career.
I'm really glad I started my career here, but the career path only has one direction. I've hit a ceiling where I won't be able to work closely with technology and must start doing project management if I want to ever be promoted again. It took a lot of years to get to that point though, so if you're wanting to be a technical expert, you can learn a ton at Pariveda for 2 to 5 years, but after that you won't be getting paid what you're worth.

Pariveda is a great place to work. The work is often intense, but the firm does a good job of helping to maintain a work/life balance. The goals of most projects are clear and straightforward, and leadership is very forthcoming about a project's risks and issues. Projects are focused on developing partnerships to bring value to their clients.
The promotion path is completely transparent. Promotions are entirely independent, and one person getting promoted doesn't preclude someone else's promotion. Required goals for a promotion level are available for everyone, along with pay scales for everyone in the organization. Career paths tend towards project management and architecture/design rather than developing deep technical skills.

Pariveda is an extremely pleasant place to work - they hire only quality coworkers, and the culture is delightful. Unfortunately, they do not pay nearly adequately for the Seattle market, since they target their salaries mostly towards the Dallas economy.

Really great place to work if you are on the consulting side, however the corporate services side of the business is very different. Because of the company size, there isn't a lot of room for growth and development, but it is still a core company valur, so it creates a needlessly competitive and cut throat environment that doesn't exist in the consulting side where room for growth is dependent on the business and projects available.
