POCs will be held accountable (blamed) for the racism they experience from clients. The CEO, Derek Mitchell, who is a black man, even admitted to me that he and another high level employee wondered, “if the job could really be done by a POC” because of the requirements and approach of the position. The CEO said that to my face. The organization is predominantly white, yet focuses on issues facing POCs. They cannot retain POCs (particularity black and Latinx people) because they do not know how to suppport them. It is a vicious cycle they are unwilling to truly address. The organization is financially irresponsible. In 2017, it was discovered that the CFO had embezzled a significant sum of money from PSI. The CEO, Derek Mitchell, allowed the CFO to avoid an audit for 3 years. As a result, employees were required to go on furlough. I did not receive a raise in 3 years, my 2nd year I made less than my first (as a result of the furlough) , and when “raises” finally happened it barely accounted for to the change in inflation. The process for how raises were determined was not transparent and when I advocated for transparency I was reprimanded. -1.0 NEGATIVE -1.0 NEGATIVE -1.0 DISAPPROVE 0.0 1.0 4.0 1.0 3.0 3.0 1.0 1081700 Open Truly reflect on how PSI supports POCs in the work and make plans to ACTIVELY SUPPORT THEM. And I really did tell them that in my final email as I signed my separation agreement. The response from Chris Thorn, the Chief of Programs and Partnerships was, “we will continue to support ALL employees.” He completely dismissed my feedback, which was given in earnest as I do not want other black women and POCs to encounter my experience. His response was equivalent to saying, “All Lives Matter,” which is especially problematic as the organization positions itself as anti-racist. Truly, shame on them. 0.0 [] REGULAR No No 4.0 Mar 30th, 2021 06:20PM Mar 30th, 2021 06:20PM Partners in School Innovation

Also a kind, low-ego group. - The most introspective culture I've ever worked in (20 years). True commitment to understand and act on continuous improvement. - The professional development and growth opportunities are unparalleled. While promotion opportunities are based on readiness and/or open role, the org commits one day a week to PD; it's embedded in culture and routines. - The vision for the work and org is strong - The methodologies and tools are sophisticated well beyond what's typical for orgs this size - Deep commitment across the org to equity and to do the right thing in general. - Can use more targeted leadership development/skill building - Change in business model has the org in a place of developing new finance capabilities...some growing/adjusting pains. With efforts underway, likely to be smoothed out within a year. - Like with all bay area companies (especially nonprofits), struggling to keep up with the market/salary compression. - Maybe need to hold higher standard for interpersonal behaviors related to communication. 1.0 POSITIVE 1.0 POSITIVE 1.0 5.0 4.0 5.0 4.0 3.0 4.0 1081700 Open Stay the course!
