Great place to work - Welcoming culture

Having joined during the pandemic, being integrated into the company was a large concern and PatientPing has gone above and beyond to make new employees joining remotely very much feel part of the Team. The company culture is the most welcoming I have encountered and they have been able to maintain this in a work-from-home environment.
Leadership is very transparent and welcomes all questions and ideas from employees.
The PatientPing mission is seen in all that is done, and important to every employee at the company.

Benefits are bare bones. Every technology company under the sun offers healthcare, dental and vision. They offer minimum necessary maternity leave, no retirement match and unlimited time off but that is nothing to brag about. Pay is under market for most roles at the company except “favorite” employees who get promoted to leadership positions with fewer than 5 years of work experience. Diversity equity and inclusion efforts are all talk and no action. There has never been a real HR team or process to standardize promotions and compensation and so many people know they make way below what they should be at. The culture is toxic and product direction and innovation are nonexistent. The product is the exact same as it was years ago and competition will soon be able to do everything this company did and more. CEO isn’t friendly and forms negative opinions about people based on one comment or suggestion but claims he wants people to be open and ask questions. Many people started to leave because there is no growth and the only thing keeping people here is the mission, but there are lots of other companies doing work to make healthcare and peoples lives better. No clear direction or strategy, just throwing things at the wall to see what sticks.

It had so much promise...
I would say culture but that's a bait and switch under the current leadership team.
I would say the office environment: snacks, swag, but they gave up their office and don't give swag any more, (which is actually the most fiscally sensible thing they've yet done).

Massive churn and layoffs.
Misleading/lack of direction by senior leaders.
Poor communication, no genuine feedback to support personal growth or success.
Constantly changing direction without solid reason or plan to execute or succeed and then fault the team for not reaching targets.
When you take PTO you are made to feel threatened by having priorities outside of work.

Get serious about defining our product offerings, don't do custom work per customer.
Validation via sales is good for an enterprise SaaS product, but having good hypothesises that we validate & test before starting the sales cycle will speed our time to delivery, and increase our success rate.
Also remember, first cycle sales won't be followed by renewal if we don't deliver on the actual value proposition.
