The Worst Company I have ever Worked at

My life got exponentially better in nearly every facet after leaving Patreon.

Toxic culture 101. Echoing a lot of the other negative reviews here that I advise you take seriously. I was heavily recruited at the time and sold a false bill of goods. My hiring manager, who was the primary reason why I joined, rage quit a few weeks after I started after having a falling out with their manager, who subsequently became my new manager. Things took such a sharp turn from there I was micromanaged, bullied, humiliated in front of teammates, and threatened with termination. It got to the point where teammates were calling me after team meetings to check that I was ok. They fired me anyways only weeks after my child was born. There was no justification of course, my manager just had it out for me despite being a top performer working 10-12 hour days, and found any excuse to get rid of me. My path to working at Patreon was slightly different than other team members, so that meant I was an outsider. It took months of therapy and rebounding to a much better job to fully recover from workplace trauma, and now I’m much better off. Dare I say thriving.

I don’t see a strong future for this company until all of the soulless and truly awful individuals on the leadership team are removed from their positions. It might be an issue that’s too deep rooted to be salvageable at this point though.
