Low pay, then don't always pay
|
I left this company because they don't pay travel, have low pay for techs, but had to argue for a month to get paid for work, once I got paid did more work but then they didn't pay for my last job saying I was paid twice on previous contract job so I quit.

Company needs better management and care for employees. Customers are more important than employees.

IF you are lucky enough to get through a job, you will get paid -- it's a job. It's pretty easy. However, jobs are not guaranteed, and even if you travel hundreds of miles to arrive for a contracted job, this company WILL stand you up without telling you the job fell through and we didn't bother to tell you the job doesn't exist and they won't bother to pay you or even issue any apology or even answer the phone to hear your complaint about getting dumped yet again on another contract job. Obviously this company does not value its employees at all. I have lost more money in travel and personal expenses from more than one contracted job than I've gained from working for this very unreliable company. Don't let this happen to you. Just go somewhere else and work for another company. Very disappointing experiences!
Other hints that should give you a clue that this company has issues? Website: Just check out all the misspellings (not professional). Application process: They ask for very personal PII info and ask you to transmit it and email it across non-secure channels -- and they are a TECH COMPANY and do this (VERY unprofessional). Paperwork is lost between offices and one part of the business doesn't know what happened to your paperwork or job order and another part of the business doesn't know why you didn't get paid and another part of the business (your team leads) don't know anything about what's going on back at the main office. You get a contracted pay per hour dollar amount in writing via email, then this company cuts your pay to a lower rate with no explanation and never really gets the pay issue fixed, EVER. You are instructed not to clarify any work issues with the client, yet Peak Systems can't seem to get their own act together while you are at work. It is very frustrating to have actual work problems and not be able to talk to anyone about the job.
Maybe if you are lucky enough to get a long term contract and these bugs can be mitigated, lucky you. However, if you do many regular small contracts, short term gigs in various locatoins, expect the kind of treatment described above with just about every job. It isn't worth it to work with totally incompetent management while getting barely acceptable pay. It just isn't worth the hassle. Really, go somewhere else. You'll be glad you did. I decided to write this review because Peak Systems still owes me contracted pay they haven't paid yet. I'm tired of begging to get paid and tired of being skewered-over by a company that does not care about its employees at all. Not at all a professional employer.

fun, easy but weak management

typical work day was very easy. learn to communicate with others in person and over the phone. Management was weak, pours a lot of work and won't acknowledge. takes all the credit. the culture in the workplace is very loving, co workers help others in need. the most enjoyable part was how easy the work flow was but the pay/salary couldn't reach your standards.
