Amazing place to work!

Working in PB has been one of the highlights of my career. I worked as a social media manager and I had the autonomy to experiment with my strategies and do good work. My superiors helped me realize my limitations and helped me hone my skills. The CEO is very forthcoming and holds a transparent relationship with all his employees.

I'd recommend this company to people who're ready to break out of their comfort zone and do extraordinary work :)

Severe micro management and zero trust in employees. A weird manipulative and way of running a business. If you are fresh out of uni and into the workforce, take note that this is not how any business should operate and you really do deserve better.

I've been doing work for PeopleBrowsr for many years, and it has always been a great, reliable client. The company is very dynamic which means there is always with something new to work on, and that keeps things interesting and challenging. Working on a wide variety of projects means there's always opportunity to try out new tools and technologies. Despite being a remote freelance worker, I've always been made to feel an important part of the team.

There are times when the pressure to deliver can be very high, when trying to meet ambitious deadlines, and that can be stressful.

Competitive salaries and office location.

Management is bad, there is no humanity in it, as it reads in other reviews (except those written by the CEO). Marketing is unplanned, IT is weak, HR doesn't exists, job interviews are often awkward.
After the first couple of months of excitement, you'll notice that none of your actions matter. There's no point in setting up any sort of structure and strategy or be organised in what you do, because you're asked (relatively often and usually on a Monday) to drop everything you have done for months to follow a new (totally nonsense) business idea.
Structure is forbidden. Strategy is forbidden. Planning is forbidden. Fun is forbidden.
Don't be fooled by this company and the big numbers that they will throw at you, they mean nothing. Do your checks.
Other than wrong practices and people manipulation skills, you'll learn nearly zero, waste time and slowly get out of the market.

Not a good fit for me

I had the chance to work with some really smart and talented people. However the company in general lacked a clear vision and the product suffered as a result.
|
The capital burn rate of this company made for a volatile work environment and it was difficult at best to succeed here. It was a great learning experience and i value the time i spent here just wish the end result were better.

If you have the ability to see the bigger picture and longer term roadmap, it is an inspiring workplace with lots of opportunities. If you put in the effort and the hours, your role can grow very quickly with generous compensation. All staff are given the opportunity to share their ideas and develop their roles.

Having a relatively small team means the scope of your role will likely increase as your abilities are recognized - Some people have a "This is not what I signed up for" response. If you're not a team player and not willing to learn or help out when needed you may not enjoy working here.

Deceptive start-up, appalling management, poor products

When the CEO is overseas the staff seems less suicidal
|
There are three reasons why you’d work for PeopleBrowsr:
* You have been there for so long that no one else would employ you
* You got absolutely nothing on your resume and “just need a job”
* You are truly desperate potentially looking at becoming homeless
The CEO Jodee Rich clearly has no concept of employee satisfaction. The office is a depressing dungeon with no happiness or joy. Personal conversations are not allowed and God forbid if someone accidentally forget to switch their phone to silent - because then “The Mighty Vampire Overlord shall raise his iron fist!”
He treats his employees worse than sex slaves, verbally abuses staff and outside office hours he’ll hunt you down until he gets what he wants.
The tech is bad. Marketing is bad. The hours are bad. The culture is bad.
I wish I had read the reviews on Glassdoor before taking on this job.
Oh, and for your information the only 5 star positive review here is written by the CEO :-)
