Was fun while it lasted
|
When I first started, Periscope was an awesome place to work. As time went on, and changes at the C-level plus changes in the industry began to impact the type of work the agency was getting, it slowly became not so fun. Periscope's inability to move with the times is ultimately what led to the changes that caused a lot of top talent to leave. It's hard to say where Periscope is now as I have not been there in over 2 years, but the rumors say that it's pretty much the same as when I left.

Employee Focused, Management Lacking

I've only worked for Periscope for roughly 8 months, since I was contracted up to two years through JCPenney.com. However, my time was cut short due to budget cuts, so three of us lost our position very unexpectedly leaving me unemployed for over a year. During my time there I found the company focused on employee morale with their weekly celebrations, involving alcohol and food! I also enjoyed the benefit of bringing your dog to work, even though I can see how it's a distraction for others. The management seemed to be under-trained and incredibly new. I either had a project manager with little to no experience or someone who had been with the company for so long that they acted privileged above the rest.

Lots of managment changes have killed the unique culture that was Periscope.
They seem to be more focused on bring in more VPs than developing existing talent. There doesn't seem to be a lot of opportunities for growth or development.

Great place to work

Periscope was fun place to work. We were even allowed to bring our pets to work. The atmosphere was relaxed but yet organized and upbeat. The management rewarded the employees when we had a good year.
