Inconsistent management, gossip, complete lack of communication

- Great benefits (this is the only thing that earns the 2 star rating)
- Minimal overtime
- Lots of food options nearby
|
- Management can be completely hands off with some people and micro-manage others, there's no middle ground
- HR will scold you for going to a job fair on your own time
- Communication is basically non-existent. Emails don't get replies, design discussions happen in a multitude of Slack channels with no use of threads or organization, no direction of what the team will be doing after the next project ships.
- Gossip and trash talk of coworkers occurs openly in common areas
- Art direction takes no consideration to existing design and will sometimes alter design without consultation

Great Company, Awesome People, Exciting Work!

When I first started at PGI, people had been extremely welcoming and helpful to me. With all their support, I was able to settle in very quickly. Over the times, I found it very enjoyable working here. People here are honest, hard working, have no ego, willing to listen, open for discussions, helpful, supportive, experienced and most importantly very fun! Even I am not a senior staff, but whenever I share my opinions I feel like they truly listen. Everyone is valued and respected equally within the organization. The management is great! When I have questions, isn't clear about the tasks or need help, they all respond very quickly to give me guidance and support. I am truly thankful for that. PGI is definitely a fun group of people to work with! I am loving it!
Work life balance is great. The management respects your off hours and I rarely get calls or messages after I am off work. As a parent, this is very important. Also I like the perks; social events, fully stocked snacks and drinks, and video games. Work Hard, Play Harder!

Location is not perfect but very convenience and lots of good food in the area.

Systematic Sexism and Bullying

- Full kitchen with an abundance of food.
- Typically a good work-life balance, but this is dependent on your department.
|
Piranha Games suffers from a lot of systematic sexism. Male colleagues are given more opportunities for challenging work where as women are frequently tasked with mundane work. Worse yet, when women face harassment from their male colleagues and turn to HR, they are berated, bullied and told that the blame is on them. Piranha Games has a very toxic workplace and I wouldn't recommend working here.

- Has a really good work life balance barely any crunch or overtime.
- Lots of talented people that work at Piranha Games, no dead weight everyone chips in and has a huge effect on the final product.
- Kitchen is stocked with food and drinks at all times.

- Due to its small nature not a lot of room for growth career wise since there is no real way to move up.
-Games that are currently in development are good but do not have AAA name recognition.
- Compensation is a bit low compared to normal industry standards.
- Feature creep is an issue and management doesn't allow for it to be implemented properly due to tight deadlines.

Lack of competent management expertise in their so called fields.
Poor Planning and design choices forces frustration and tension in the workplace.
Multiple projects thinning out development on main project.

Stop development... Sit, Think, take a Breath and make a real plan for once.
Actual look at and in-house test features before even announcing poorly thought out plans.
Maybe stop forcing your bad decisions on the project and I don't know, maybe talk to real people about the projects path and not people you hire in your community to be yes men.
