In my four plus years as a part time member of the PSU faculty, my supervisor and department head have maintained consistent and positive contact with me. I feel like a valued member of their team, and I look forward to facilitating the PSU scholar-practitioners' learning each academic term. Their leadership style has allowed me to be creative with the excellent learning tools provided so the learning environment is an innovative as possible! The results are positive responses from those who want to learn, and their reward is in a heightened capability to apply their learning as serious learners. Additionally, PSU provides its staff and faculty the most up-to-date technologies for learning/teaching, along with the training to master these technologies. PSU practices what it preaches! The environment is relaxed yet conducive to work and I never felt like I was under any pressure. However, I was only allowed to work no more than 20 hours a week and was paid minimum wage. Paid holidays, summer time hours, paid vacations are all wonderful. The work is constant and at times fast paced. Under the right supervision, you can accomplish much, and contribute to the University as a whole. Many departments have staff retreats and individual voices are valued. I have learned a great deal!
