Fun work, horrible management and atmosphere.

Playa Bowls was my first job, and while it was a good learning experience, I would not recommend working at this establishment. I cannot speak for all of the franchises, but the one I worked at had terrible management, did not listen to employees opinions and concerns, and overall had no true care for its staff. In the last month, a third of the employees left the company due to these reasons, as well as a multitude of other problems. We were underpaid, had no support from management, and worst of all, were not accommodated in times of true concern. Something I will always remember was an incident at the store with a customer that left staff feeling unsafe on MULTIPLE occasions. Management and the owner were repeatedly informed of this, yet never did a thing about it. Among this and other issues, Playa Bowls in Nashua is not somewhere I would recommend anyone to work. The job itself is fun and you’ll meet some great people along the way, but the pros of the job unfortunately stop there.

The work is very easy to learn. My only con is with management. The upper management fails to inform employees on things and doesn’t know it themselves.

Busy but overworked for the amount of pay
|
A day of work was busy and productive 24/7 always something to do, management plays a big part in whether you’ll like it, the mangers at this specific location were horrible which led to over 11 people leaving in a couple days. Little to no room for promotion and pay is not good for the amount of work you have to do
|
The actual work itself is good but again mangers ruined it
|

It’s a fun job for a high school aged worker, decent pay from tips and you learn valuable life lessons. Can be stressful if i’m a busy area that gets a lot of traffic .

Could have been great.

The vibe, colors, and merch is incredible. However, being employed by a franchisee who never ran a restaurant and seemed incredibly clueless was the hardest part. Everybody in the corporate side is amazing and the message I feel like it also positive. Unfortunate that false promises were given and in regards to pay, time off, and simple respect!

Easy job/Bad pay/Pure madness

Pay is horrible for people there.
Lied to in the interview was promised a position in 30-60 days, turned into 6 months.
Management is all over the place. Not really managing the store more just being there.
Employees who throw knives.
Overall I would suggest this only for a high school student with no other choice.

Fast paced but enjoyable working environment
|
It is a busy little shop and you mainly have yourself and another coworker, however people are understanding of a little wait and very friendly. The vibe of the shop is very fun and beachy and the music is up to the employees so it makes a fun time working and getting your stuff done. The managers are very flexible with scheduling and never deny anyone time off they need.

Terrible pay and drama filled workers
|
This was my first job. They were paying under minimum wage here even though we got “tips” it wasn’t enough to even making remotely a decent wage. The tips would be super small only about $7 - $12 a week. Their pay it terrible. If you want to be overworked and underpaid then apply.

Customer are loving but working there was rough.

Playa bowls was good , it was an easy job. The rushes were amazing you were always busy . you get to meet a lot new people. Bad part was your co worker and manager they are rough , Everyone against each other . They hate you.
