Great company/Stressfull Job
|
Overall the company is good to work for. Pay is not very competitive even though they say that it is. My same position as well as other management positions are severely under paid. The co-workers and everyday being different is what make the job good. Everyday there is something different going on and I am always learning. Everyone that works there gets a lot very well and it is almost like a family. The stress can be over baring and a lot of things are asked of management with not much compensation.

Managers fussed a lot
|
Typically if you needed time off or even to use the restroom my managers (who aren’t there now for obvious reasons) would fuss about how long I needed time off or to use the restroom. However it’s super fun to get to talk to the different variety of customers.

This is a good job for high school/college students or people who haven’t had a job in a while. It’s very easy to get used to the computer system, the most stressful part of the job is dealing with rude costumers. I would recommend this job

Food city is great about working with your schedules and honoring time off requests. I have been with them for five years during which I accepted another job offer from another company, worked two months and couldn’t wait to come back to Food City. I really love my job here.

I have never worked at a place where the better of a job you did, the worse you were treated. At Food city that is exactly how it was. Also the more I took on the less my team helped me.

Insurance was decent.
|
Just about everything, Managers are lazy, showed on many occasions they thought we were "warm bodies" there just so they could go home.

Managers didn’t know how to schedule. I would get less than five hours between shifts to sleep. Was supposed to be part time but usually worked as close to 40 hours as managers could get me before their managers got angry.

One of the most toxic work places ever!

Probably could serve as a good job during hard times, or when you might want some extra cash, but other than maybe a job during hard times or just a first job, it is the worst. I applied here as a first time job, and yes, it is good as a first time job, but over a week or two you are over it. They never praise work. The management has favorites! Certain people would have buggies for 3 hours when it isnt busy at all, so they would just stand around and play on their phone, while another person could have buggies for 1 hour during the busiest time and if they didn't clear the lot they were yelled at because "it's not that hard." The people working there are negative and always start drama no matter if you work everyday or every once in awhile. Nobody cares for anybodys mental or physical state.

Good company, fair pay. Makes an effort to work around school schedule and doctor appointments. Overall a nice place to work if you're just joining the workforce or as extra income later in life.

Awful place to work
|
If you like doing your job and all of the managers jobs for little pay then this is the job for you. I got hired in at 11.50 when other people, some of them had been there for 10 or more years, we're still only getting 10 or less an hour. You get a raise every year but it'll be at most 25 cents and you're not guaranteed that much. I highly recommend any other job on the planet.
