This made the job absolutely unbearable. They didn't care about you. You didn't get asked to cover a shift, you were called in, dead of night or middle of the day in class to come help. Pay sucked for how hard they worked you. Benefits were a maybe. Sat in my car to eat lunch and cry Short break. Working 3rd shift for almost 5. Too many changes and not enough staff , especially on 2nd and 3rd shifts, makes getting task work done very difficult at times... and it doesn't help when we don't have a truck person consistently or they're only given 3-4 hours to put an entire truck away. And if one little thing isn't done for 1st shift, it's always attitude given back to us from them when we have 3 people and they have 8+. During this time I have worked at several different stores. My "home store" was closed for 6 months for a remodel and during that time I worked at a few different stores and met a lot of different people. The management at some stores was definitely better than others. I like to think that the management at my store is pretty great, I am proud to be part of our management team. The shifts get very stressful sometimes due to the store I work at being a very high volume location, call offs, or just not having enough staff in general. It can be very difficult to get all of our assigned tasks done with only a few people while getting slammed in the kitchen or having a line through the whole store. Customers frequently are rude to the cashier's and talk down on store management because we aren't always given enough hours to have the number of staff needed on a shift. Sheetz has amazing benefits- especially their maternity leave which I was just able to take advantage of (12 weeks fully paid) PLUS their all new parental leave which is two weeks. It can be added to maternity leave for women but it also allows father's to take two weeks of paid leave. They have given very generous bonuses around Christmas time the last two years due to how well the company is doing. We are also able to get bonuses every quarter depending on a variety of factors. They also update wages to be competitive as necessary. I do think that there should be a shift differential at my store at least Thursday-Saturday on third shift because of everything we go through. It is offered at some locations about an hour from us, but not ours at this time. Overall, despite the amount of stress this job sometimes entails, I have grown a lot from working here and I enjoy the people I work with. All of the employees but especially the other members of management feel like family to me. I meant what I said. Sheetz was a horrible company to work for as their management teams treated customer service associates like DIRT. I worked in one of the North Carolina stores and it was not up to bar as out of state stores. It was an awful experience and I would not do it again. 0/10 stars for everything. I receive tuition reimbursement of $750 if my GPA is above 3.0. There are a lot of bonuses and the company keeps up with competitive wages. Nice to work but have to stand on feet all 8 hours which can be tiring but the pay is worth it. Fast workplace environment and a good culture. I have worked all shifts and liked all of them. the first shift is 6 am-2 pm, the second shift is 2 pm-10 pm and the third shift is 10 pm-6 am. over the night can sometimes be short staff. The company has a lot of rules which are good such as keeping the store clean and waste expired food which keeps the company out of legal trouble. Management is good and keeps us up-to-date on changes and what to expect in the next few months. They all friendly besides a few people. Definitely one of the best jobs I have ever had.
