At ProNova Solutions you needed to very flexible. The timetables that was given was very short to complete your work assignments. The Quality control procedures That was put in place did seem cumbersome. It was very satisfying working there knowing that I was helping people better lives in treating their cancers.

I was hired to help this company progress in it's future installations of Proton therapy equipment . Because this very specialized kind of Laser proton therapy for cancer patients, and its ability to destroy cancer tumors with 100 thousands of a millimeter beam , I found so excited to develop for the business a proper installations procedures.
Unfortunately, Provision the parent company ran into financial problems.
which lead to a 70% employee layoffs, from 4 different facilities including my Orlando facility, and my position.

Interesting and challenging product engineering tasks early on. Now moving more toward mfg. & site installation engineering.

Product has a long upfront development cycle. You architect a building around it.
The product scale and complexity is challenging.
The product life cycle is longer than most medical devices. On par with defense or research projects.
First prototype and installation had an expedited and optimistic timeline.
The ratio of those managing vs. those directly working on the product was out of balance. Several roles could be eliminated with no adverse effect.
Planning was a weakness. Not just duration of tasks and milestones. Leadership often did not understand the sequence and overlap areas in the development and validation of the new product. Sometimes the things that could wait were expedited. And the things that could not wait lagged.

Intellectually stimulating product. Lots of smart and skilled folks on staff.

The facility is nice and is designed with plenty of room and an employee gym.
