Unprincipled workplace - terrible culture/management
|
This place is managed so poorly, bunch of amateurs - running the place like a clown show. Management oblivious to day to day turmoil among staff. They’re unwilling and unmotivated to make changes until ownership gets involved. Then they come up with the most basic “rules of engagement” guidelines on how to sales should behave. They’ve lost any credibility among industry people and are seen as incompetent and bullies. Completely micromanaged in 2024 so be prepared for that. I worked for there for many years and watched it decay. No value system, no core values. I finally left when they essentially asked me to compromise my principals. They continue to overlook bad behavior. They’re selective with discipline, put you on an island if you don’t conform. Toxic place

Management is a joke. Place is run like a clown show. Managers don’t know how to manage, ran every good employee out of the place. Culture is toxic and managers are amateurs at their job. Too many employees who don’t contribute working there.

Competitive pay & great work/life balance

The best part about the working at Prosource is the work life balance. In the kitchen & flooring industry it’s hard to find to an employer that only expects your to work Mon-Fri 8am-5pm. They offer a competitive base salary and small commission on gross profit. Structure is missing so that’s the only reason I’m giving Prosource 4 stars

Nice showroom environment, friendships with colleagues and product knowledge meetings to expand your expertise.
What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
As a cabinet designer I found it highly stressful because I was answering to so many people all at once. Each account manager has their own set of expectations and timelines and I was expected to cater to them all at once. During busy time periods they could be extremely rude and snappy but if they ever received a dose of it back they run to management and or start bringing jobs to the other designer (if there was one at the time). It’s very manipulative and unfair. Management made zero effort to make the job loads even and fair so depending on their moods toward you at the moment- you may or may not get jobs to work on. This directly affected my pay and I had no say about it.
What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
High stress and sitting at the desk non stop. Not healthy.
What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Answering emails, making phone calls to customers and venders, designing projects on 2020 and sending out quotes and renderings for bids.
