A lot of the workers and managers are extremely easy to get along with, amazing incentives to motivate employees, very safety aware unlike a lot of companies I've worked for. Great pay/benefits plus there's time for family which many other companies severely lack in that area. Can come to work comfortably wearing what you prefer. Only downside, having experience in one area versus another not taken to consideration whereas you would do an extremely good job where you have experience. For those passionate about music/guitar...the owner is kind enough to send a birthday card unlike other employers. They really care for their employees, and it shows. Great people. Great Culture. Everyone is different, no cookie cutter people. You can be who you are there. TONS of great benefits of working there. I only left because I had to move across state, but I wish I could have taken them with me. I miss my PRS family... Great management. But they do have a few kinks that need to be worked out. One being the management, there’s a lot of micromanaging. Another problem that I have with Paul Reed Smith is that the communication skills between employee and management were horrible at least while I was there. A few days would go by without hearing from my personal manager with multiple messages. Messages about sickleave or paid time off to just leave me having to double ask my question to make sure I got off. Shoot even simple messages like letting them know the amount of work I would get done, with no responses. As well as, The quota kept rising and not only Was I expected to complete quota, when I would ask for help I received none. I was working down to the minuets at the end of my days with very little time to spare, sometimes skipping breaks And being told to stay late to finish it.. When brought to attention of a higher authority nothing was really done to fix the problem. It’s a fast paced, hard-working environment. I will also say some jobs at PRS are easier than others if you get lucky heck you might like it. The workers helped me when I needed it. It’s a good company to work for. Good people. Good benefits. I would go back to work with them. I loved the casual dress code, very easy going but also safe and comfortable to work in. Not only is the product very cool and world renowned, it is a great place to work. They do a lot for their employees. Obviously, they don't do EVERYTHING right, but in my experience with other companies, PRS gets it right far more often than not. There are training opportunities, events, discounts, health and wellness seminars, as well as many other things. The facility is constantly upgraded to make it a safer and more enjoyable place to work. Case in point: I wear glasses, so I opted to buy prescription safety glasses - PRS picked up the tab. Work boots, the same thing. They routinely look within the existing workforce to fill vacancies. Many of the top positions in the company started their careers as sanders! There needs to be a structured training process for every department. Clock in on time or you will get points for being late. There is a point system that renews annually that could lead to termination. Also, the pay structure works on increments of 15 or 30 minutes. So if you clock in at 7:31, and are scheduled to work at 8, you will not be paid for 29 minutes. Great place to learn about the production of guitars. The pay was honestly too little if you WANT TO WORK. You can crush your inspection output day after day, and still make the same money as your peers who only put out 1/3 of your numbers. It is one of the best places to work in Queen Anne County. Work stations are thought about by their supervisors and given all the tools to work with. Time off is allowed when emergencies arise. Management and HR fires people over taking others food but won’t fire someone who repeatedly tries to starts fights with employees. Poor management. Working at PRS Guitars for over a year, I learned a few things about the nature of the company and how it's managed. The work is hard to get used to as it is repetitive and there is little desire for the management to train employees on different skills. The pay rate was not satisfactory for the type of work required by the employees (not enough to make a living). They offer great benefits with 401k and healthcare options, but that doesn't make up for the fact that an employee simply doesn't make enough. Overall, the work atmosphere was great with great co workers, but the management and the lack of understanding of its employees left a bitter taste in my mouth.
