Hiring bar is very high, so working here will give you exposure to some of the best minds in engineering. Most people outside of management cared a lot.
I think the company is on a good path, but there were a lot of casualties along the way. Teams were cut, people were overworked and told to leave as soon as their utility was exhausted, and I think most people who left before me did so on bad terms.

Slowly the culture has disappeared and been replaced with directives from the exec team to shut up and work. Work-life balance is either great or non-existent, but vacation is now only reserved for engineers who have been there long enough to be irreplaceable. It wasn't uncommon for people to either take 4 days of vacation and be shamed for taking time off because "we're busy" (we were always busy), or 8 weeks and thanked for their service often. You're either a favorite who gets promoted often and praised, or you're forgotten and glossed over every year. Most of the company falls into the second bucket.
All the perks we had have been taken away slowly, with the main perk now being "a paycheck". Compensation is on the low end (no bonus, decent base, bad equity), and all the issued stock options I got while working there are worthless now after a fundraise (a nice way to treat the people who helped get the company where it is today). Employees still there have to re-vest all their options.
Diversity is something we talked about, but typically hires were either H1Bs or experienced hires, so not a lot of room for diversity.

Brilliant people, especially in data science. This is an engineering culture, and the founders know how to identify and work with truly talented engineers. Working on great products that add value to users, which is satisfying. Work-life balance is very, very good for a start-up for most employees. There are some occasional long hours and stress, but management is always supportive and understanding. Super smart and empathetic CEO.

Powerful science ruined by upper management

Very smart data scientists and engineers. Modern benefits you'd expect from a Bay Area start up. Great place to grow as an individual contributor / young professional who needs to pick up the basics of product workflow, engineering, data science.

Upper management has no idea what they want Quantifind to be, so they reinvent the company every few months. Brand business is completely lost in employee turnover and lack of strong leadership. Platform is a homemade BI tool that is far more expensive than superior competitors.

I have seen so many (myself included) who have grown their career tremendously at Quantifind. The high-intensity work and a close-knit group really demand every individual to carry the weight. It's so rare to be given such immense responsibility and visibility in an organization, at this stage of our careers. Perhaps because of the selectiveness, Quantifind has gathered an amazing team, so lots of learning opportunities if you put in the work.
The culture at Quantifind truly feels like a big family -- you will become friends with your coworkers, even outside of the work. Needless to say the other standard perks that come with working in a start-up in this area: free lunch, good medical benefits, flexible PTOs, lots of fun happy hours and lunch convos.

Know what you are signing up to be part of a start-up -- it's challenging work but lacking a cohesive product vision at times. You will get to work on many interesting problems and constantly innovating, but not sure what might come out of it. Workload fluctuates depending on how many client accounts are on the table. Historically, this company tends to favor candidates with great pedigrees, despite their social ability, but it's been improving and thanks to the awesome HR team!
