It is a challenging role where this role needs to work across three-time zones (HK, UK and the morning of East Coast in the US). The account structure is not clearly defined and people keep stepping each other's toes or pass their work to other time zones to complete. After spending a year with the company with two review cycle, I found it hard to believe that minority may have a difficulty to climb up the corporate leader no matter how dedicated you are. While working at RPG has its upsides—great culture, great people, great benefits, chance to work with big brands, pretty good work/life balance—I wish it could bring in more interesting clients, and hence more interesting work. That's probably the biggest challenge it, and many other agencies, face. I love that there doesn't appear to be too many egos going around. It seems like everyone who works there genuinely wants to just do good work and is open-minded to others' opinions and thoughts. You never quite know what you'll be working on, which does make it fun. But no matter what, there's always high energy and an overall sense of respect and kindness throughout. Bagel fridays! I didn't feel that they maximized the value of their interns, because a lot of the time interns were doing data entry or clerical/administrative work. Overall, I wish I'd taken my time and energy elsewhere. I was able apply the training I had from college and put it in a real-life setting at Racepoint Global.
