The people in the horrid management are drown in delusion of self-importance. Old people who are clearly out of touch would refuse to learn from the young, because they think they know best, which is laughable, because they can't even effectively communicate well in English. Technical department is looked down upon, and that explains the out-of-date tech in a org that runs on an almost $100 mil annual budget paid by tax payers' money. Teamwork is nonexistent, so gossiping, backstabbing and putting the blame on others in inferior positions are the management's biggest and maybe only strength, while earning top-notch salaries and benefits. Pre-covid vibe was unusually dark and depressing, because people were often found scrambling, stressed out, and overall lost in thought. The bureaucracy is blatant and similar to what is seen in authoritative countries like China, which is ironic for RFA. There are people who shouldn't have been granted security clearances to work here. Contractors get nothing other than the hourly pay. | large office, central location | suffocating environment, old tech, out of touch | 0.0 | 0.0 | 1.0 | 1.0 | 1.0 | 2.0 | 3.0 | 1.0 | Jan 28th, 2021 09:26PM | Mar 19th, 2021 08:00PM | Radio Free Asia | |||

I learned and implemented a lot at this position, ranging from new system administration techniques, to authoring LAMP web applications to track and store broadcast content, and concluding with modifying and developing part of their radio broadcast software (Audacity, Rivendell). | 0.0 | 0.0 | 4.0 | 5.0 | 3.0 | 4.0 | 4.0 | 3.0 | Jan 28th, 2021 09:26PM | Mar 20th, 2021 02:42AM | Radio Free Asia |
