While there are competitors in the market, no one can offer and end-to-end development tool like the Raygun platform. US office is a disaster. Pay is below average. Benefits are terrible compared to other local companies. Training is all but non existent, marketing is in a silo and is unable to generate quality leads or provide materials that support the sales process. Just because you build something doesn’t mean sales will come. Developers are great at building software but not necessarily running a sales organization or growing a company. The variety of work is fantastic. - 50% female representation at leadership level. There is excellent support and rapport amongst the female staff. - Great culture that is centred around caring for its people - both employees and customers. Staff have lots of fun and do social activities together, customers are well looked after by great account managers and the tech team. - Employees have a lot of say, new ideas are always encouraged and discussed in a safe, open and supportive environment. - It's an international company, and there is a lot of opporturnity to travel to the US/New Zealand - It is full of high calibre people, so it's not so great if you are looking for a cushy job or just want to put in the minimum effort. - If you want a highly prescribed job, this is not a place for you. Roadblocks are quickly taken down and people are given all the tools and resources they need to get their work done efficiently. You can have a feature developed and in front of your users the same day! There is a great sense of team effort with everything done. Everyone gets involved and we all have fun doing it. We deal with data at scale and Raygun offers the chance to build performant services that operate at thousands of events p/s (for devs) or design intuitive, great-looking interfaces that are used daily by people all over the world (for designers). Great team structure and support from leadership, the staff is a friendly bunch who know their stuff, an excellent location in central Wellington (handy to the best coffee in the country) and of course the usual perks like free snacks and beers/lunch on Fridays. Lots to do, we've grown fast and built a large platform and the workload can be quite high so you need to be good at estimation, time management, multitasking and delivering (for a dev). GM in particular is one of the best people I have worked with. Company culture is really nice, lots of social opportunities and free team lunch on Friday is really cool. Working on really interesting problems rather than banging out CRUD forms. Have never been asked or expected to work overtime. Founders are developers too so very supportive. Only place Ive worked at where you get to pick your rig and tools before you start! Working on products that help other developers around the world is very satisfying. If you want an easy developer gig this is not the place for you.
