- a lot of trust is handed to the employees, if you are proactive and a self-starter you may do very well here.
- autonomy, well at least with the CEO
- if you like places that are quiet and lets you focus on your task and get the job done, this place is great for that
- CEO has an eye for, respects, and an appreciation for design
|
- at the time, the company was going through growing pains and sometimes the environment became stressful due to sudden and silent layoffs without any warning (i'm sure things have improved since then, the CEO listens to feedback)
- some of the technical leads had little respect for designers and was at times patronizing, if not downright condescending

I worked with the company for over a year and I don't regret a moment of it! I grew tremendously while I was there because I was given the freedom to be creative. My ideas were heard and respected. I reported directly to the CEO and he felt more like a partner than a boss. He also had very high standards which made me better at what I do.

It's a start up - so there are a lot of pivots and that is not the right atmosphere for everyone. While I do not personally see it as a con, some people might. Also, there wasn't huge room for growth (at least in my position)

- Product seemed interesting, at first.
- Nice employees, feels like a fun dysfunctional startup family.

- Strange uneasy atmosphere in the office because communication is discouraged.
- Management not competent. Never on the same page even though there are only 3.
- Micromanagement. No trust in employees to make decisions.
- Some management have superior attitude toward employees. No value for suggestions and feedback.
- Some management free to make sexual comments, and rude comments about employees' weight and diet, since company has no HR.
- Untested code often deployed directly to production, ruining live customer publications.
- Weekly, daily shifting priorities, ever-changing feature requirements. Difficult to stay motivated, keep deadlines.
- No standard work processes for any department.
