They care a lot about what they do and are all very passionate about their jobs. The product itself is about average. Working at Red Canary for years, it's impossible to move around to other opportunities without judgement and developing grudges. Layoffs are whisper quiet and sudden - they will fire your high-performing coworker for being stressed out while also calling you on vacation and expecting you to 'always be on'. Red Canary is a company that repeatedly chews through talent and increases the burnout rate in an already very burnout-prone industry. The majority of my team is currently actively job hunting. Benefits have dried up from a few years ago. Where once there were opportunities for learning and conferences, there are now none unless you can win a ticket to one. Insurance is paid, but it's a very bad option for insurance in most of the country. Treatment of disabilities and life events is problematic, and the culture is cliquey at best. If you're lucky enough to get a good team, you can use this as a good notch on the bed post in a resume. It's disappointing to note that, as highlighted in other reviews, Red Canary appears to lack a genuine interest in fostering the growth of its employees. The prevailing sentiment suggests a preference for hiring external talent rather than promoting from within. This trend seems to be influenced by a culture characterized by pretentiousness and a "no one can do what I do" attitude among most individuals within the company. The absence of a mentorship culture and a reluctance to support internal growth is concerning.
